CULTURE

How do you show employees you appreciate them?

As a guest at an Engageli All Hands meeting you might think you’re in a highly engaged university classroom. The entire team joins synchronously from eight countries, spanning seven timezones as Co-Founders Dan Avida and Serge Plotkin share the latest company developments as the classroom “instructors.” The team is spread across 10 Engageli virtual tables, raising their hands to introduce new team members, as well as share business and product updates. The chat is a flurry of conversations, mostly joyful messages about the new partnership announcements and features being developed in the next release (and being tested in each meeting!). Integrated poll questions test the team’s knowledge of partner usage, showcasing how much we’ve grown as an organzation. Every employee contributes to the weekly meeting, and is appreciated for their dedication and contribution. We also have a coordinating #appreciation Slack channel to recognize individuals for going above and beyond their typical job responsibilities.

How are you creating a workplace of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging?

The Engageli platform enables a more inclusive environment by providing employees the engagement and participation tools to contribute to meetings  in the ways in which they are most comfortable, including real-time feedback and anonymous Q&A. As a fully remote organization, we also encourage communication through various formal and informal channels including Slack, WhatsApp, GoogleMeet. We even make phone calls to connect!

When hiring we look carefully at the "whispering" resumes. There are many professionally written resumes that highlight successes and numbers under an individual's achievements, but we also look for an impressive journey in how candidates reached their career goals, giving us a good sense of skill and will.

Why should someone work at your company?

While some Engagers have a background deeply rooted in education, the entire team is driven by Engageli’s mission to create superior teaching and learning experiences to optimize success for all. Talking to the team 1:1 will also reveal the common threads that are the underpinnings of the Engageli culture: Engagers are passionate. They are curious. They are humble. And most of all, they are lifelong learners.

Our company could win an award for:

Innovation! As a fully remote organization, we prioritize building community, collaboration, and camaraderie amongst employees.
