ABOUT THE COMPANY

NoiseAware was created in the wake of one vacation-rental party that went too far–at a property owned by our co-founder. Which meant in the beginning, our goal was simple: prevent incidents at rental properties by stopping noise issues and nuisances before they upset neighbors, led to property damage, or worse. And that was a great start. As our company grew, we added more features to help property owners and managers, including direct guest messaging, over-occupancy detection and integrations with other property technologies. Our privacy-safe noise and occupancy measurement tech and easy-to-use smart sensors are extremely effective at preventing complaints and costly damage without sacrificing guest experience or comfort. But over time, our product has grown into a service with a mission. We listened to our customers’ stories. We visited real customers’ properties. We showed up at city council meetings, met industry advocates, and poured what we learned right back into our service. Eventually it became clear to us that the core of who we are isn’t just our product, but the care we have for our customers. Today, we’re setting our sights even higher. We recognize now more than ever how important it is to be a good neighbor, not just in our own communities but in the world at large. For us, that means being tirelessly considerate, attentive, and compassionate towards our customers and providing tools that make it easier for everyone to be a good neighbor.

CULTURE

How do you show employees you appreciate them?

We're constantly finding new ways to show appreciation for our employees. We just implemented "Feel Good Fridays" in observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, which is extended through the year. One Friday a month our whole team will have off to do whatever makes them feel good. We also send gifts for all anniversaries & birthdays. In June we brought our entire team, which is based in 11 different states, together in Dallas for 3 days full of games, food, happy hours, and opportunities to connect to one another. We also have unlimited PTO, paid parental leave, equity in the company upon date of hire, and we contribute towards the majority of employee health benefits.

How are you creating a workplace of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging?

It's important to us that employees can come to work as their true selves, whatever that may mean. We post our open roles to a variety of job boards to encourage applicants from all different backgrounds. We increased our % of females in our org from 17% in 2020 to 31% in 2021, and hope to continue that growth. We also increased our employees over the age of 40 from 17% in 2020 to 31% in 2021. We're also working to reintroduce our "NoiseAware Colleges" in which employees can present on topics that they're interested in! They can be work related or something that they're passionate about outside of work. We hope to do 1-2 a month.

Why should someone work at your company?

NoiseAware is a special place to work. Whether you're having a quiet day filled with deep work or a fast paced day putting out fires, you find yourself surrounded by 30 teammates that want you to WIN. And they'll do whatever they can to get you there. Because we're small, all teammates have the opportunity to wear many hats, try out new skills, master other skills and sometimes fail forwards in an environment where it's safe to do so. We trust our team and if you're someone that wants to take on new challenges and create your own path, you should work here.

Our company could win an award for:

Heart. We do what we do because we want to help people & communities - a mission for which we were recently honored with the 2022 Shortyz “Consumer Champion Award” (The Shortyz Awards are  the most prestigious honors  in our industry).  Our team is a community in itself and we show up to work every day trying to be the best neighbors to each other that we can be.
